The very language you use illustrates my point. You no more prove your views by use of intemperate language like "dog vomit" than Mr. Van Curen proves his. No one can tell from your postings, or those of Mr. Van Curen, who is correct, and frankly, I don't care anymore. I don't suppose that anyone could determine who is correct without examining original documents. My point is the style of discourse used which comes mostly from the anti-Van Curen side. I would agree that exposing incorrect genealogy is desirable, but you don't, to my reading of your postings, do that. You simply repeat your position over and over, in really nasty language. If you don't wish to use dignified, civilized language, I don't wish to read what you post. Certainly you are correct when you say that your postings need not be read by anyone who wishes not to do so. But one of the primary values of a forum such as this is information about the Van Sickle families posted for all who are interested in the subject to read, and for such information to be helpful to others. Please continue with your posts, if you wish, but I don't believe flaming others is helpful to anyone. I suppose that my views on the use of language are hopelessly out of fashion. I would hope, however, that others who use the forum would also like a better tone. I wish you well in your genealogical endeavors, and I hope you do find a resolution of this conflict.

David Van Sickle
