Hello cousin Linda,

You are the closest relative I have found on this forum. Our lines are the same down to Gabriel, although I show him born in 1780, not 1774. My line after Gabriel is as follows:

John William 1806-1859 - He moved from New Jersey to the Coshocton, OH area where there are many Van Sickels.

Gabriel 1832-1911 - married Elizabeth Sanders. I note you show an unknown Elizabeth married to the first Gabriel. I show him married to Ellen Swearingen. I also show John William married to Ellen Swearingen though, so something seems to be wrong with my records there.

Joseph Van Sickel 1859-1891 - My great grandfather - married Mary Ellen Tade.

We have a pretty accurate family chart going back to John William. The line prior to that I have pieced together from a lot of sources, most recently from the Mormon genealogy web site. I have gotten a lot of information just reading this forum as well, thanks to all the contributors.

The second Gabriel relocated from Ohio to the Kirksville, MO area. VanSickels from MO, IA, CO, and WY have an annual reunion in August. The location varies, but often, including this year is near Kirksville. Anyone reading this is welcome to attend.

Eric Van Sickel
