I have this news from my Cousin Carol who is undertaking the task of where did we originate...

Ton in Zeeland had Jef vanSikkelerus contact me. He has documents that he offered to send to me on what he thinks is our line....he knows the vanSichlaer/van Sickelen bit. He says Ferd only left from Amsterdam but did not live there he live in Vlissigen(Flushing) which is in Zeeland. He has a letter from as John W.VS in the 1890s to the city of Deventer on the river Ijsel...north Holland...west of Amsterdam regarding a will. The 1880 under Lt. Garret VS talks about how he inherited a large sum of money from Holland that was taken by another family member. Also Grietje Reynier was supposed to be from Wesen Germany which is just south of Deventer on the same river. Will keep you posted

He also has Otto/Hendrich/AnthonyJohannes in the years 1530 to 1570 but its not clear if they are VanSicklens or vanSichalaers....will have to wait and see.
