I also lean towards Zack and think there is no connection to the Fernandus line unless very old.

I still don't know for sure but believe Zack and Hannah were the parents because Anthoney came in the late 1700s to Mason with Henry Van Matre to buy land. He married a Van Matre as did my Christina. At the same time period Zachariah and Rosanna also bought land in Mason (I have a copy of the deed) however, they must have died shortly thereafter unless they returned to Greene County because I don't find them in later years.

I think its very possible Samuel was a brother to our Anthony and Christina.

There was a Zachariah in mid 1600s in the Dutch Reform Church in Kingston, N.Y. at the same time that our Van Matres were there.

There was also a Zachariah in New Jersey same time period and same church affiliation, then on into Greene County, Pennsylvania this time showing up in the tax records along with our Henry Sr. and Martha Moore.

I keep thinking this Zachariah has to be the age of our Henry Sr. and therefore very likely the father.

I do not in any records in Mason or Greene County find a Samuel that fits the age well enough to convince me.

For every answer there are 2 more questions.

Norma
