It's been a while since I've tried researching my branch of the Van Sickle family. Family lore says that my ggrandfather Lawrence Van Sickle was from Montcalm Co. Michigan. He married Inez Lopez, possibly in Denver, Co., probably in the early 1890s. My Grandfather Alva Lawrence was probably born there. Lawrence and Inez were divorced (?) and both remarried as I recall meeting my grandfather's half-brother Neal Van Sickle in the San Bernardino area when I was very young (early 1960s). Stories suggest that Lawrence and Inez had a stormy relationship that included flying crockery due to her hot temper.

My last attempt to get records from Montcalm Co. Michigan were fruitless. I hope this is of some help; alternately if you have any further information I would appreciate assistance.
