Hi Jim,
I have been trying to connect the Van Sickle museum of Deckerville to the Van Sickles in Canada. Ruth told me that her family came from the London/Chatham area from what I can recall.

My husband's family settled around Jerseyville area and he is descended both from Isaac and Abraham, UEL's. Also, there were two other heads of family there by names of Reynier and Peter.

Tracing Isaac back, I have found that he is not descended from Ferdinandus, but rather from a line of Sickels who came from Austria. I know this sounds crazy, but it is very clear once seeing the line of descent and names contained.

If you are not awsre of it or anyone who wants to know, there is an old train depot at Deckerville. This is a museum, devoted primarily to Van Sickle's and there are lots of old large framed photos of Ruth's family.
