Van,

My Peter Van S came to Delaware County in 1812 from Sussex County, NJ as well. He is buried in Stark Cemetery, Delaware Co., OH. He was born 19 Dec 1783 in Sussex Co., NJ and died 3 Oct 1870.

Peter's father was Garret (b 1743 Hunterdon Co, NJ). In 1787, Garret signed a petition for the est. of the Clove Valley DRC in Wantage Twp., Sussex Co., NJ.

The burning question is the parentage of his wife, Elizabeth Stephens- also said to be of NJ. Peter and Elizabeth were already married when Peter came to Delaware, OH in 1812. In your search for Peter Van S- have you run across the Stephens family?

Thank you- Laura
