Thank you for finding me! Silas Van Scoyoc was my great grandfather. The 1870 Fed. Census I found for Center Twp, Madison County, Iowa said he was born in Indiana. His wife Elizabeth's last name is spelled several different ways through out the Madison County, Iowa data, which makes that search challenging. My grandmother Florence Etta (Van Scoy) Johnson is the daughter of Silas and Elizabeth. I have information on Florence's descendants if you want it. I found all the information I need at your website. Thanks.
