Mary "Polly" SHEAFOR, b. ca. 1795, KY, dau. of Peter SHEAFOR (Sr.) and Catherine "Caty" COOLBAUGH, md. David Van SCOYKE, April 20, 1815, Butler Co., OH. David is said to be a son of Stephen Van SCOYOC (or Van SCHAICK) and Elizabeth BALES.

David and Mary's daughter, Rebecca, b. 1816, Butler Co., OH, md. Haden W. SHEAFOR, son of Peter SHEAFOR (Jr.) and Sarah "Sally" WATTS.

Rebecca and Haden were first cousins. They both d. in 1874 in Louisa Co., IA. Several of Rebecca's brothers also moved to Louisa Co., but didn't stay in Iowa, moving on to Knox Co., IL, and Clark Co., IL, by 1880.
