Abner Vansant

For a long time I've been trying to trace the ancestry of my ggg-grandfather Abner Vansant who was b. about 1785 and died in 1847 in Cadiz, WI. He first surfaces in Missouri (Cape Girardeau) in the 1830 census, but there are some obscure references to land transactions by him somewhat earlier in Missouri. He was a widower, his wife may have been named Elizabeth. He apparently owned a mill, and he and his son-in-law John W. Deniston (married his daughter Anna Maria) built a mill in WI when they settled there in 1832+. I ran across a possible connection with the PA Vansants, as there's a Cornelius Vansant who had a son Abner b. about the right time. I got his birthdate from the tombstone.
Anyway, any help, would be much appreciated! -Judy Deniston Falconer
