St. Charles (Illinois) Review, Jan. 10, 1880
Local Matters
Thursday night between twelve and one o'clock Dr. Louis Van Patten discovered some one engaged in removing the wash from his clothes line. He fired two shots with a revolver at the disturber (of his dreams and night-shirts), who quickly vanished in the cimmerian darkness.
This newspaper item posted as a courtesy. I am not related to nor researching this family and have no further information.
