MY QUESTION IS?????
In the 1790 Fed Census of Wilkes County, what Company would reflect where Mulberry Creek was Located?
Company 2
Hopper, Jno.1220
Bruce, Robt.1120
Gordon, Chapman1134
Miller, Jno.1450
Tanner, Comfort1220
Huckerson, David1432
Huckerson, Charles3010
John Miller's daughter Anna, b 1788 in Wilkes, married David Hopper, son of John Hopper, four names above John Miller.
Many have erred in naming Leonard Miller as the husband of Jane H, because of the following;
From 'HAPPY VALLEY, History and Genealogy.' by Thomas Felix Hickerson, Chapel Hill, N.C., December 15, 1940.OLD FAMILIES OF THE VALLEY Page 23
" After 1778 we find Charles Hickerson and his wife Mary Little Hickerson settled near Wilkesboro on the Yadkin and along Mulberry Creek. Their children (born in Va.) were: (1) David m. Nancy Toliver (Taliaferro); (2) Capt Joseph of the 13th Va. Regiment, Revolutionary Army, and later of the Wilkes County militia; (3) Mary m. Mr Stewart and moved to Tex; (4) Jane m. Mr Miller."
NOTICE HE SAID A MR.MILLER SANS A FIRST NAME.
Nathaniel Vannoy was known to have been friend of ABOVE John Miller who I believe (circumstantial proof) was married to Jane Hickerson who later married a James Reynolds.
i AM SEARCHING FOR ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE ABOVE JOHN MILLER,
Thank you
