I am researcing the Civil War soldiers of central Texas. There is a Pvt. James A. Van Ness of Co. H, 6th TX Cav., CSA buried in Belton, Bell Co., TX. According to his marker, he was born in 1840, and died in 1894. Any information on this soldier would be greatly appreciated.
