See my previous posting on "Alcy Vann" (message # 1903)who may not been a Vann, but was surnamed Falling instead. John Rogers' visit to the Spring Place school seeking to enter his 12 year old daughter as a student is described in Vol. I, pp 91-92 of the THE MORAVIAN SPRINGPLACE MISSION TO THE CHEROKEES. I have yet to see any contemporary evidence for Alcy Vann's existence.

Their is no doubt about the parents of Robert B. Vann, from testimony by his mother, Polly Vann Campbell Holt (nee Scott)in an 1842 claim and from the student list at Spring Place.
