I am looking for information regarding Van Kirk's in the Minnesota. I'm trying to help my husband trace his family history. I don't have much information but hopefully someone can point us in the right direction.
My husband's parents are Robert Charles Van Kirk 1921-1992 and Marlene Joyce Spencer 1922-1994. My husband is one of their five children.
Robert Charles is the son of Earl Van Kirk 1887-1964 and Vera (unk). Earl and Vera divorced, Vera remarried Nick (unk), Nick died about 1955 and Vera died around 1961/63. Earl Van Kirk remarried (unk) and had two other son's Charles L 1941-1999 and Donald F 1944-2003.
Before Charles L passed, he had mentioned that Earl's mother was possibly of the Chippewa (sp) tribe.
We are aware this information is sketchy, but this is all I have to go on. I left out my husband's sibling's because they are all still with us.
Again, any information would be greatly apprecited.
