Justin, I am back to researching my VanHouten line and wondering if you have any thoughts on the following: My 3rd great-grandmother CATHARINE VANHOUTEN FORD (b. about 1783 PA) was the dau of John and Mary VanHouten and had a younger brother named JOHN VANHOUTEN. Catharine's youngest son Michael Ford (b. 1805) married REBECCA VANHOUTEN 8 May 1828 in Wayne Co., Ohio. Rebecca was born in Ohio 3 May 1808. I have often wondered if Catharine and Rebecca were related. My theory is that Catharine's brother JOHN was Rebecca's father. I got this idea by looking at the name of Rebecca's oldest son (JOHN V. FORD). Since Rebecca's oldest daughter was named RACHEL, perhaps that was the name of her mother. Do you have any records in your VanHouten family of a John and Rachel VanHouten, married between 1800-1808 in either Ohio or Pennsylvania? Also, does this John VanHouten mean anything to you? 1800 Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania JOHN VANHOUTEN one male under age 10 one male over age 45 two females under age 10 one female age 10-16 one female age 26-45 Thanks for any help. I'm at a brick wall with this line. J Notify Administrator about this message?
