She was the youngest child and only daughter of JOHN VANHOUTEN and his wife MARY, natives of Pennsylvania. Catherine had an older brother named John VanHouten. Catherine VanHouten married UNKNOWN FORD about 1804 in Pennsylvania. Their son, MICHAEL FORD, married REBECCA VANHOUTEN in Wayne County, Ohio on May 8, 1828.
