Hi, Carole. I've been trying to track down the ancestors of my gg-grandmother Caroline Van Houten, who was b. 1823/24 in Ohio, d. aft 1880 prob Franklin Co. KS, m. abt 1841 prob Marion Co. Ohio, George O. Ross (b. 1814/15 Massachusetts). George and Caroline can be found in the 1850/60/&70 censuses at Big Island, Marion Co. Ohio. George was named estate administrator when a Mary Van Houten died in 1858, and it seemed likely she was his mother-in-law. He was also appointed guardian of "Ann A. Vanhautan" in 1860. Since Mary Van Houten inherited interest in Peter Van Houten's (d. 1846?) farm, I have guessed he might have been her husband. This seems to be the case based on your message. Can we exchange information? Landon Ross
