I found my grandfather (spelled Gijs at ellis island, he spelled it Gys) came over from rotterdam, holland on the "Pottsdam" on 3/20/1913. anybody have information related to him? He was born 1891, died in CA in 1974. Had sister elizabeth(sp) hartman(sp) brother william (lived in carlinville, IL at the time). maybe brother fred.
