Thank you for responding. Wilhelmus Frans was bp at Zion's Lutheran in Greene Co. in 1761. His parents seem to be Jacob Frans and Catharina Vooland (?) Note: I found her surname at the birth of her last son Phillip, previous children just had Catharina. o.k., Jacob's parents were Jacob Frans and Antje Haal. Before that I seem to have Dirck Fransen that fits the time scale of Jacob (and Antje). Dirck had 3 brothers, and their parents Frans Claesen and Immetje Dircks came over ~1650.
To continue, please, it seems from the bp at
NY Ref Dut Ch the 2nd generation changed surname to Van Dyke, if they chose. I do not have info that Hendrick Van Dyke was related
(Stuyvesant's schepen). Anyway I saw in a book where Van Hoesen was another surname of Frans/France, and I thought you might have some connecting info. Thank you, Martha W Garcia
