Sorry about the typos in my previous message - been a long day! I was referring to the 1850/1860/etc. census records.

Also, Sarah C. VanHook is listed in the 1890 St. Louis, MO, city directory as "widow of James D." and living at 3305 Easton Ave. She was living with her son "James D. VanHook, Chemist" at that time.

In the 1900 Kansas City, MO (Jackson Co.) census is listed Sarah C. VanHook, age 60, b. KY Oct 1839, widow. Living with her is a daughter Josephine, age 26, b. MO May 1874 (both parents born KY). Could the daughter be "Mary Josephine"?
