David VanHook was my ggggrandfather, He married Mary Ruth Morrow, the daughter of Ebenizer Morrow here in Macon Co. NC
They both died young with thyphoid feaver,leaving two small girls who were raised by their grandparents, the Morrows. The old Morrow house is standing right now, but is falling down. David, Mary Ruth, the Morrows and many slaves are burried there. My great grand mother was Sara Jane VanHook who married Nathaniel Parrish just before the beginning of the civil war. My name is Judie Parrish Whitus. I live in Macon Co. NC. I grew up here, went away to find work and came back to retire. Let me know if you receive this letter.
