I am looking for another direct female descendant of Bridget (Vanhook) Hargis that would be willing to have their mtDNA tested. A candidate would have to be from a continuous female line - mother to daughter - down to today beginning with Bridget (Vanhook) Hargis, b. 1755, who was married to Thomas Lee Hargis. I descend from their daughter Jane who married Elias Fort in Person County, NC.

From the information that I have found, the best possibility of a match may be a descendant of Martha Hargis who married John Moore in 1803. I would appreciate being contacted by anyone interested in digging into their maternal Vanhook roots. Thanks!
