The research material of Greenleaf S. VanGorder is assembled in the manner of a Court File or legal file. It appears to be a rough draft and was apparently destined for the SAR. Whether the family was contributing the research to the SAR or Mr. VanGorder was is unclear.
For the most part the research is typed with very small, neat script notations. Giving credit where credit is due, Mr. VanGorder's secretary/clerk/assistant must have spent hours typing this draft - with no erase key at that!
As I stated previously, it appears that Mr. VanGorder was conducting a "one name study." His research must have taken years to compile given the times in which he lived.
I have not verified any of the material contained in the file and have no further information regarding the individuals listed in my posts. I tried to transcribe as closely as I could to the original material, however where you see "no birthdate given" for the children, that is my clarification. Any other comments made by me are noted as "poster's note."
Yes, there may be typos on my part - I'm only human!
I encourage all of you to share your lines and post any verified corrections to Mr. VanGorder's research.
Regards - Marion Scherer
