Looking for information on Elizabeth (or possibly Lyzbeth or Elisabeth) Van Giesen. She would have been born, probably in Essex County, NJ (though Bergen Co. is possible) about 1760-1766. She married Henry Edeson (or Edowson as it is spelled in the New Barbadoes Township, Bergen Co. tax rateables of 1793) at the Reformed Dutch Church at Acquackanonk, Essex Co., NJ on 3 Jan 1784. [Marriage #547] Their probable first child was named Nency (according to the baptismal record, though Nancy is a nickname for Ann or Anntje). Nency was born 24 May 1786 and baptized at the Second River (Bellleville) Reformed Dutch Church on 4 June 1786. I think Henry Edeson's mother's first name may have been Femmetie or Femmetje, so it is possible that Eizabeth's mother's given name was Ann or Nancy. I wonder if the move from Essex County (the old one before all the 19th century county realignments) to Bergen County might have been the result of Elizabeth Van Giesen's inheriting property in Bergen Co. This is pure speculation though. Van Giesen is not that uncommon name in the area at the time but I have not been able to identify an Elizabeth with the correct birth date.
