Although I don't know of any connection between my Van Epps line and Stevens (yet, that is--I haven't done much research on this line to date), I do have a connection to the Van Epps in Schenectady and Genesee counties, NY. They later moved to Illinois, settling for good in Lee County, IL.
Specifically, this would be William Henri Van Epps, b. 1812 in Schenectady, d. 1877, probably in Lee County, Illinois, though he has a gravestone in the family plot in East Bethany, Genesee Co., NY. He married Charlotte CHURCHILL and 2nd, Mary A. PECK, both from the same area in NY.
