Thanks for letting me know about this article! As luck would have it, a friend of my grandmother's sent the articles to her (they both grew up in Dixon) and she passed on copies to me before I saw your reply. The article is really lovely and very informative (especially as I thought the house was originally in the Steele line, not the Van Epps!).
