Following is the generally accepted data on Frances Vane

Frances Vane
Born: 1652, Randolph County, North Carolina
Father:       Sir Henry Vane
Mother:       Frances Wray
Marriage: John Grubb 10 Mar 1675

John Grubb, arrived in Pa. in 1677 aboard the "Kent."

John Grubb and Frances Vane had 9 children:
a)       Emanuel Grubb, b. 19 July 1682
b)       John Grubb, b. Nov. 1684
c)       Joseph Grubb, b. 1685
d)       Charity Grubb, b. 29 Sept. 1687
e)       Phoebe Grubb, b. 1690
f)       Henry Grubb, b. 1692
g)       Nathaniel Grubb, b. 1693
h)       Samuel Grubb, b. ca. 1700
i)       Peter Grubb, b. 1702

For those who were sick the day in Grade school when subtraction was taught:

1) John Grubb did not even arrive in America until 1677- he could hardly have married in 1675.
2) Frances Vane, dau. of Sir Henry is several years too old to have born the younger children in the family.

John Grubb of Chester Co. apparently did marry a Frances Vane, but she was almost certainly NOT the daughter of Sir Henry. Sir Henry's daughter might have married a John Grubb in 1675 but he almost certainly was NOT the John Grubb of Chester Co., Pa.

Check the Grubb family website for good, accurate data on John Grubb.

Regards to all,

Cap'n John
