An update for any who may be interested in this line: I have found the marriage of John and Jemima Hawley. John Hawley, bachelor, married Jemima Vaines, spinster, in 1802 at St. George's in the East, Middlesex. She appears to be the daughter of Edward Vaines and Jemima Clarke; her sister Mary Vaines was married with the consent of her father at St.George's in the East in 1807 to Zephoriah Simpson. There are about a dozen other Vaines marriages in the area in the late C18 and early C19.
