I've seen Lucinda's birthdate as 1837, no exact date. Since her mother married James Davis the very end of 1835 it seems a certainy. I can't find anything on a James Davis, no census record. In the 1880 census Lucinda does list her father's birthplace as Indiana. One chart I saw put his date of death as 1839, but think that's probably an estimate. James Davis certainly doesn't sound like an Indian name, but maybe his mother was. Asa sounds like an Indian name. Rachel must have married again very quickly if Asa was born in 1838. I think it's strange there is no marriage record of Rachel to George VanDyne as records were kept at that time.
