This name was mentioned in a booklet called "Valley of the Cahuengas" which is now a part of the City of Los Angeles. The booklet is property of the Hollywood Branch of Security Trust & Savings Bank.

Among names mentioned in index are Junipero Serra, John Fremont and numerous others. The one of interest to this list is:

Ben DUIN (A Danish Sailor)

I would place him in Los Angeles about 1850.
Could he be one of yours?

Gary Radcliffe (A Dine Descendant)
West Covina, CA
