I do not have proof of his family beyond that his father was Richard. I know he had syblings who stayed in NC but have not proof of the relationships (James Van Dyke I believe to be his brother). Nancy Van Dyke, the daughter I believe, was living in Wellborn Township near her sister Mary in Arkansas in 1850 census.
