In the 1900 Census of Civil District 12, Knox TN; there is listed among the patients of the "Eastern Hospital for the Insane"; a Margaret MATHEWS, age 46, mother of eight.
Also listed are: Eliza J Newman or Newton, age 32, divorced; Manda Mahone or Malone, age 44, and Mary Boswell, age 34 (among others of course).
Is there any way to find out where these patients lived prior to their admission to the hospital? And to which families they belonged? If (and when) they were later discharged? Or, if they died while a patient; where were they laid to rest?
It's been over a hundred years, and the place probably no longer exists; so anyway to check the records?
