I'm not sure if I have a connection here. Caleb Van Devender b.12Jul 1804 in Ontario County, New York m. Katherine Piper(Nipper?) .She hailed from Pennsylvania but died 1936 in Ohio. Their children were Eliza, Nancy, John(my great-great grandfather who was also in the Civil War:Co.I 32 Regiment Iowa Infantry),and Mary. He then m. in 1837 Isabelle Malott. Their children are Ella, William Wesley, Elizabeth, Daniel M., Hannah Maria, and Stella. John Van Devender m. Barbara Ellen Mayberry and their children are William Fletcher(my great-granfather), James H., Mattie,and Zelpha. William Fletcher Van Devender m. Mable Blanche Collingsworth and their children are Laura Mae, Myrtle, Blanche, Edna Marie(my grandmother), and Florence. John and Barbara VanDevender, William and Mable VanDevender, and my grandparents Edna Marie and Glenn Harris are all buried at the Cemetery in Duncombe,IA. I have dates but I'm new at this. This info is from my aunt Edna who would be Edna and Glenn's daughter. You might be able to find some info in the Iowa/Duncombe area. Like I say I'm new at this and maybe the puzzle pieces will eventually fit. :)By the way I have Caleb's parents being Christopher VanDevender and Rachel Vreeland. I do know the last name has been changed in spelling off and on. Check for Vandevender and Van Devender.
