Margaret Ann Vanderslice was born April 22, 1831 in Perry County Alabama and died about 1856 in Texas. She married William H. Young October 5, 1848 in Harrison County Texas. I believe they called her "Nancy". I do not know if she had children. If so, I do not have their names.
Margaret Ann was a daughter of Scott Vanderslice and his second wife Elizabeth Summers. Scott was born Feb. 6, 1799 in Kentucky and died in 1852 in Hallsville, Harrison County Texas. He was first married to Hannah Jessop July 17, 1820 in Dallas County Alabama. Hannah died before 1823 possibly from complication of childbirth. They had one son named Benjamin born about 1822. Scott then married Elizabeth Summers April 7, 1824. Elizabeth was born November 18, 1806. She was a daughter of John A. Summers and Addie Marie Moody.

This whole family moved to Harrison County Texas from Alabama.
Scot Vanderslice was a son of Benjamin Vanderslice and Margaret Scott. Benjamin Vanderslice was born before 1765 in Pennsyvania. He died 31 Dec. 1833 in Perry County Alabama. He and Margaret Scott were married 12 March 1795 in Mercer County Kentucky. Margaret Scott was born 30 August 1775 in Virginia and died 23 March 1855 in Perry County Alabama. She was a daughter of John Scott and an unknown wife.
Benjamin and Margaret moved from Mercer County Kentucky to Christian County Kentucky and then to Dallas County Alabama. I have a list of their children one of whom I am a decendant. See additional posting on this forum for Benjamin or Scott Vanderslice.
