Father of William A. Vanderslice (mid 1800's)

I've been researching my Vanderslice family history and I got stuck in finding the father of William A. Vanderslice. William was born in 1855 and during the 1860 census was listed with his mother and siblings living in PA. During the 1870 census, William was listed as living at the Chester Springs SOS School for orphans of war. It is assumed that his father died in the American Civil War.

Does anyone have access to this information or know who was the father of William A. Vanderslice?

My Vanderslice family tree can be viewed by going to: http://www.michaelvanderslice.com/familytree

Thank you.
