Early Vander Sluyse in America

Reynier Vander Sluyse may not have been the first Vander Sluyse (Vanderslice) in America as has been assumed and reported. According to most accounts Reynier came to America about 1700.

On a list of inhabitants of Colonial New York is areferance to the arrival of the wife and child, abord the ship "Gilded Beaver", of Andries vander Sluys, a clerk at Fort Orange, in May of 1658. I have not been able to find any other reference to this Andries vander Sluys, his wife or his child.
