Anthony Vanderpool, son of Anthony and Jacomyntje Van Seyl Vanderpool, was born 1754 in New Jersey and his baptismal record is found there. The family moved north and settled between Schodack and Kinderhook, New York. In May of 1776 he married an Elizabeth Jansen of Schodack at the DRC of Albany. She was not the Elizabeth Jansen born in 1751 in Schodack to Johannes Jansen and Jannetje Schermerhorn. Anthony's wife was the daughter of Willem/William Jansen/Johnson and Maria Elisabetha Lauck/variations. While her brother Nicholas was baptized at the nearby church in Muitzeskill, this Elizabeth was not born there and she moved into the area a few years after another Elizabeth Jansen moved out.

Before January 19, 1751, (her baptismal date at the DRC of Albany) an Elizabeth Jansen was born to Johannes Jansen and Jannetje Schermerhorn near the town of Schodack, then Albany and now Columbia County, New York.
This Elizabeth Jansen 's father died before 1763 and her mother remarried to Andries Ten Eyck and the family moved farther south in Columbia County. Elizabeth had a brother Jacob Jansen, named for Jannetje's father, who died young. Her mother had two children by Andries. Gerretje was born in 1764 and survived. Jacob Ten Eyck was born in 1772 and died young.
This Elizabeth Jansen married Coenradt A. Ten Eyck, known as "Bush" Coenradt, on April 23, 1770 at the Linlithgo Reform Church in Linlithgo, Columbia County, New York. They obtained a marriage license on April 9, 1770. She died before 1772 after watching her husband fight with an indian. He remarried in 1772 to Rachel Hollenbeck.
