Thanks for the info on Maria "Van Sandt".
A few years ago I checked Abington Presbyterian's records. The copy the church allows you to peruse is hand copied, I presume from the original. In the hand copied version, Maria appeared as 'Maria --.' In published genealogies, I've seen it appear as Maria 'Un-'. I guess the original writing was indecipherable.
I remember seeing an Abraham who married Phoebe Hufty in published genealogies, but had assigned this Abraham to a different branch. I have in my notes that Abraham, son of Abraham Vandegrift who m. Maria "Van Sandt," was born in 1734 (this is from Abington Presby's records). I BELIEVE (this is stretching my memory a bit) he was also under 21 at the time of his father's death 1748, which corroborates the 1734 birth year. If this birth year is correct, he would be 15 when he married Phoebe Hufty in 1749.
Instead, I started pursuing another Abraham Vandegrift marriage. There is an Abraham Vandegrift who married Elizabeth Willard at Christ Church in 1756. As you know, Christ Church is in what is now Center City Philadelphia. If this is the '1734' Abraham, he would be 22 in 1756, which seems a little more realistic. I am guessing that Abraham of 1734 moved to Philadelphia and was married there, since some of his descendants lived in the Frankford/Bridesburg area.
