Am looking for any info on marriage of Rebecca Vandergrift to Joseph Duncan. Not sure of his birth date or place, or even if my Joseph was the one that married Rebecca.
I know my Joseph duncan had a son William that was born in Smith County, TN, and that William married Julia Pigg (dau of John and Mary Fuqua Pigg). William and Julia had a son named William Penn Duncan, born Oct 1830 in Smith County, TN. William Penn was my great grandfather.
Based on William Penn Duncan's birth year, I am guessing that Joseph was born sometime around 1770-1780.
Have seen a couple of GEDCOM's on the internet with a Joseph Duncan marrying a Rebecca Vandergrift in 1813, but that Joseph Duncan was born in 1757 and their first child, Mary, was not born until 1814. This would have made Joseph 57 yrs old.
Any help out there?
