Hello All,
I've come across this JAMES T VANDERGRIFT in Alabama, he was living at Ryans Crossroads with wife EMMA, son OLIVER, daughter BERTHA during the 1920 census. I've found where he died on Jan. 24, 1921 in Morgan County, Al.
I have reason to believe that he may be my missing ggrandfather.
My JAMES T VANDERGRIFT was married to LAURA ANN DOBBS on Oct 24, 1887 in Arkansas. They were divorced between 1900 & 1910.
According to my ggrandmother's obit he supposedly died in 1906, I don't believe that is true since my grandfather is the one who gave the information. He was probably told that his father died when he was young.
Does any of this sound familiar? Thanks in advance for any help.
