The correct spelling is VANDERFORD.
The original name from Dermont Flanders, The Netherlands, was Vandervoort and was changed by his son when he came to New Netherlands (now New York). The family migrated to Maryland, North Carolina, Tenn. and South Carolina. Other chains migrated from there all over the US.
