I just returned from touring the Biltmore Estate... wow! They did mention Cedric, George's favorite St. Bernard. Apparently Edith happened upon the kitchen when Cedric was being hand fed strips of meat. Edith was so disgusted that she had many "half doors" put up throughout the house to partition off areas where the dogs should not have access.
