The July 13, 2004 edition of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette made mention of "Pittsburgh millionaire Joseph Vanderbilt". The article was a short historical interest piece concerning Mr. Vanderbilt's disposing of a piece of property to a group of West Virginia investors in 1904.
I am trying to find some biographical information for Joseph Vanderbilt, such as how he made his fortune, if he left any descendants, if he was a philanthropist, etc. and would like to confirm that he is NOT related to the "Commodore".
