SUZANNE MARTIN,
In the 1830s Cornelius built an imposing house on the old family farm in an area called The Clove. The house, with its imposing portico and corinthian columns is still standing on Clove Road, as of 1989.William Henry Vanderbilt the commadore's son farm was five miles from Stapeton. get a copy of the book The Vanderbilts by Jerry E. Patterson page 23 you will find a picture of the house. I am not offended I see your from SI N.Y. please let me know if its the same house.
Hope this will help us both
