Alfred Vanderbilt, d. 1915 on Lusitania
I do not research this line, but I thought I would add jsut a glimpse of 'human' into someone's genealogy. Alfred Vanderbilt who died upon the Lusitania (the 1915 ship that was sunk by a German torpedoe)seemed to have been a very nice man. He could have saved himself, but instead he insisted on making sure the children were to safety, first. I consider that heroic, and wanted his descendants to be aware of this fact in case they were not.
