I have been looking at the Brandau and he naming patterns of the germanic folks.

I guess the naming pattern I see in Robbert family fits with one that goes 1st M = paternal 2nd Male = Maternal 1st female = paternal Mother's side. That fits the sponsors.

I also see the multiple names e.g. Johann Wilhelm or Maria Elizabetha Catharina are both honorifics of family and St. Names. The first name is the name fo a Sait so St. John or St. Maria. The next name is the name used in records and among thhe family etc. So Johan Wilhelm is seen is the records as Wilhelm, and his wife is known as Elizabeth Catharina. this fits with the naming pattern of the 2nd genration Brandows well. In some naming patterns the Catharina would denote a maternal grand mother or mother.

Another thing I stumbled across is a record of when Johan Wilhelm trnashipped to England in June 1709 before is transit with he other emigrants in 1710. It lists his name, age of male child as 3, and that he has a wife and is 30, and his occupation is baker with religion given as Ref. I assume for the Reformed church. Other emigrants are said to be Lutheran or Catholic.

I also see some of the families in West Camp are those of the baptismal sponsors of catriene found in DRC Kingston.

Doug thank you for stimulating my research. The Brandows certianly had a big impact on the VanDenburgh's of Old Coxsackie. Please feel free to email me off line at paul987vd@yahoo.com. I guess we are taking up a lot of air time.
