Thanks Paul for the clues that will be helpful tracking down some of these elusive Vandenburghs. I am descended from Hendrick son of Richard Janse through Hendrick's daughter Catharine who married Johannes Brandow and then down through the Brandows a couple more generations. Although I have searched cemeteries, court records, church records, etc., I still find lots of unanswered questions. Some of these are presumably because of sloppiness on my part; e.g., I have that Mathias H. Vandenburgh died in Coxsackie in 1841 and even have what looks like a reading from a tombstone for his age: 80-2-22, but where is this stone??
Anyway, do you have a marriage for Lydia and Jan Bronk? Any idea when/where they died? I seem to have some saying Robert married Catherine Bronk and some saying he married Catherine Brandow. How do we know which is correct? Also when/where did Theunis and Dorothea (Vandenburgh) Houghtaling die? I guess I have the same question regarding Rachel and Casper Collier, although I agree they stayed in the Coxsackie area.
