Your Willie Iola is one I haven't run across. You noted that Annie was raised by "Grandmother Van Curen", would you have at least a first name for Willie's mother?I suspect that her real name was likely something like Wilberta or Wilhelmina.I even have a Walsie(sounds similar enough), but I would need a bit more to identify the branch. For example, if you have located Annie in the census, that will not only tell you where she was born, but where her mother was born, as well. That will at least give you a state to look at in the 1880 and 1870 census.Through the 1930 census, there were no Van Curen families settled in Texas, but there were Van Curen families in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and New Mexico, and one of Isaac Van Curen's sons(John-California) married a Texas girl.Only family connection I have with a Grimes is a Judy Grimes married to Gerald Van Kuren, and that was only 25 years ago.Determine where "Willie" came from, and perhaps I can uncover who her parents were.If she were under 15 when married to Grimes, then Samuel VC of Oklahoma is a good prospect.Couldn't find him in the 1880 census, and in the 1900, they had no "living" children.
