My Frederick Van Cour was probably born in the late 1800's. The only one of his children that had children was Peter, and those were my father, Norman and my aunt, Sally. They were born in 1939 and 1940. Frederick's wifes name was Florence.
Vermontville is about 20 miles from Lake Placid and about 45 miles from Plattsburgh. We are way north of Syracuse.
I can't help but think there still must be a connection. Even if it is not the same Frederick, there must be a relation somewhere!
As you said, with the spelling of the name, it is hard to search for. I am only at the very beginning, and that is only one side of the family. I have a long way to go!
Hope to hear back from you.
